The
Treehouse

6a Architects / Private Home

The Treehouse brings together two Grade II listed 1830s weavers’ cottages with an award-winning extension by 6a architects. We documented a home shaped by contrasts: historic fabric and contemporary intervention, intimate rooms and open garden views, all connected by its distinctive timber structure.

Film + Photography Dpiction

The approach

Our focus was the relationship between the original house, the later intervention and the garden beyond. Photography and film trace the timber-framed veranda as it moves between spaces and around the existing trees, while quieter details explore changing light, material and texture. The aim was to show how the architecture feels as a sequence, rather than simply documenting individual rooms.
